MuzMatch Muslim Matchmaking App

MuzMatch

Recently, I ran across a MuzMatch video advertisement while earning points for an Amazon gift card on a game app.

Obviously, it’s a dating app specifically designed for Muslims.

Now, I’m not Muslim. However, that hasn’t stopped me from writing about an application for Muslims in the past writing about an application for Muslims in the past.

The MuzMatch Dating App

Say you’re single and in search of a partner, but seeking someone of the Islamic faith. Well, MuzMatch, much like Tinder, serves this purpose by connecting singles in the Muslim community.

Thus, they one specific goal: cater to Muslims wanting marriage based on halal principles.

Founded by Shahzad Younas, a
Morgan Stanley banker, the emerging Islamic based dating was created as a result of wanting to learn how to create apps. This lead to capitalizing off of an untapped niche for the Muslim matchmaking.

It’s specifically designed to focus on meeting singles for marriage as opposed to hook-ups.

Later, as the app began picking up notoriety, Shahzad, teamed up with Ryan Brodie, an iOS engineer, in 2016.

As a result, this application has grow globally, with users from:

Europe
United States
Canada
Bangladesh
Pakistan
Turkey
The Middle East

Meet Your Match

Considerably, MuzMatch isn’t much different from Tinder in functionality. First, it’s free to join and members have the option of signing up using their Facebook account.

Second, you swipe profiles to find potential matches. Third, users can choose to upgrade for a premium membership. This opens up to features such as:

  • Advanced Search Filters
  • Fine Tune Match Preferences
  • Reverse Past Swipes
  • Being Placed At The Top Of The Swipe Pile

However, there are a number of functions that separate itself from Tinder and other dating apps.

For example, users are able to choose an anonymous name and blur their faces on their picture profile.

Other features that set them apart:

Verification System: Secured profiles verified using selfies. This helps to weed out fake or sketchy profiles.

Wali Chaperon: Include an extra friend or family member into conversations.

Behavioral Reward: Receive an identification pin for a good reputation among the MuzMatch community.

What Are People Saying

As of the time of this writing, many people have given this matchmaking marriage app positive reviews. Users have indicated a good experience and helpful.

However, there are those who’ve been unhappy w/ their experiences. Yet, it appears this may come as a result of misunderstandings of how this application actually works.

For instance, some users complained about the billing process. MuzMatch, however, does not handle subscription payments. That’s done via Google (for Android users).

Others speak of calls to upgrade to premium in private message. That’s a pretty fair criticism considering other apps advertise this option during swipe.

Although this application has room for improvement, I believe this platform has a lot of potential.
